WHY STATEMENT
I love building relationships with the girls that come through the softball program and learning about who they are an where they come from. Alongside getting to know them is telling them about Jesus. I want to be a good role model for what it looks like to be a godly woman that they can look up to, respect and trust.
PERSONAL BIO
Ellen Renfroe Reed was born and raised in Jackson, Tennessee. She graduated from Trinity Christian Academy where she helped lead her high school team to 4 state titles and 1 runner-up finish. She went on to continue her education and athletic career at the University of Tennessee.
In 2014, she was named the Capital one Academic All-American of the Year for softball. She was also an Academic All-American in 2012 and 2013. In 2011 and 2012, she was named a Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American. She was a part of the 2013 team where they finished Runner-up at the Women's College World Series and was also part of leading them to the WCWS in 2012.
After her collegiate career, she played one summer in the National Professional Fastpitch league for the Chicago Bandits and one summer for the ScrapYard Dawgs. In 2014, Reed was a volunteer assistant for the University of Memphis Softball team where she went on to serve 3 more years as an assistant coach working mainly with pitchers. In the fall of 2017, Reed was named the head coach at Bethel University at McKenzie, Tennessee. From there, she went on to serve as the pitching coach at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette for the 2018 season before landing in Morristown, Tennessee.
She has served as the Co-Head Coach for the Lakeway Softball program since 2018. She is married to Jon Reed. Together, they have two daughters, Isabella and Aurora.
